My Story

My name is Frank "Sarge" Thiele, and I am the owner and craftsman behind Sarge's Custom Wood & Resin.

For 17 years, I proudly served our nation. During my military career, I learned that the smallest details often make the biggest difference, that quality is never an accident, and that anything worth doing is worth doing right. Those lessons became a part of who I am.

My military service came at a cost. After being wounded in Iraq, I medically retired from the Army as a disabled veteran. Like many veterans, I faced the challenge of finding a new purpose after my service ended. I discovered that purpose in woodworking.

What started as a way to heal became a passion. Today, every piece I create represents patience, perseverance, and the belief that something beautiful can be built through dedication and hard work.

When I step into my workshop, I don't see wood and resin, I see possibilities. Every slab has its own character, every grain tells a story, and every project is an opportunity to create something that will become part of someone else's life. Whether it's a charcuterie board passed around during family gatherings, a custom plaque honoring a hero, or a handcrafted table that becomes the centerpiece of a home, I know these pieces will carry memories long after they leave my shop.

Nothing I build is mass produced. Every board, every pour of resin, every cut, every sanding session, and every finish is completed by my own hands. I take my time because I believe true craftsmanship cannot be rushed. If my name is on it, it has to be something I would proudly display in my own home.

As a disabled veteran owned small business, my mission is simple: to create heirloom quality pieces that are as meaningful as they are beautiful. I believe in honest work, American craftsmanship, and treating every customer the way I would want my own family treated.
